Rating System

Novels may be rated on the following elements:

  • Interest : how engaged I felt with the plot and how original was it? Was it full of tired tropes?
  • Characters: how strong my opinions were towards the characters/did I care about them or find them compelling?
  • Fear Factor: how frightened I felt while reading (if relevant)
  • Pace: was it a high tense page turner or did I have to trudge through it?
  • Ending: did I end up feeling happy and satisfied, or screaming and frustrated for more? (Both good things.) Or did the ending fall flat?
  • Overall: all factors combined to give a score from 1-5:
